Danish design for your feet

The Danes have been known for their designs in different settings. From Utzon’s opera house in Sydney, the Kennedy chair by Wegner or the popular toy brand Lego, Danes have a way to produce things that are noticed and admired. The general thing about Danish design is that it is made with materials that last and has a value of its own. This goes for glerups footwear too.

Our pride and joy is our wool blend, which we will get back to. But firstly a bit more on how glerups aligns with Danish design philosophy. Danish design is said to be simple, functional and elegant – glerups have a simple expression, they can be worn all year round and they come in assorted colors, made with inspiration of the colors found in Nordic nature, making them an easy fit into your pre-existing wardrobe. Some colors are neutral, some give more of a color boost, so there is a pair for every type.

Our wool blend will blow your socks off

The wool blend used for our footwear is one which we have spent years trying to refine and ended up with the unique blend we use today. It consists of wool from Danish Gotland sheep and wool from New Zealand and is packed with natural benefits. This wool blend keeps your feet warm during winter and cools them during summer. This is due to the wool itself being heat regulating. It absorbs the excess heat, as well as excess moisture and odor that might occur when wearing them. All of this is then released again, when you give the slippers a rest, which is preferably done in some fresh air. This helps the slippers feel as good as new afterwards and is one of the things you can do to help the slippers last as long as possible.

To learn more about how to maintain our footwear, read here. glerups are made to last longer than your average slipper, providing you take good care of them.
